End-Times Prophecy: Creation Liberated by Abidan Shah, PhD

In this weekend’s message, we will see that creation itself is eagerly awaiting the return of Christ and its liberation from sin. The world around us experiences the effects of sin in the form of natural disasters, disease, and death. However, there is coming a day when Jesus will return to do away with this distorted creation and usher in a new heavens and new earth.

End-Times Prophecy: War Within by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we will continue our study through the book of Romans. Paul has examined the power of sin and the danger of the flesh, likening them to us following old masters back into slavery. Christians have been saved from sin and death, but we still struggle against the power and influence of sin in this world. Paul was no stranger to this war within the heart of every believer.

End-Times Prophecy: Sinful Flesh by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we will be learning about our own sinful flesh. Much like sin, flesh doesn’t just refer to our physical bodies, but rather to a power working against us. We, like Paul, often find ourselves doing things we wish we wouldn’t. We will learn this weekend about the dangers of the flesh and the hope of victory we have in Jesus.

End-Times Prophecy: Sin-Abounding by Abidan Shah, PhD

In this weekend’s message, we will dig into a topic that, in my opinion, we often misunderstand: sin. What exactly do we mean when we talk about sin? It is one of those words that begins to lose its meaning the more you say it or are exposed to it. And yet, our understanding of sin affects our view of God’s grace and his goodness in our lives. Even through the prevalence of sin in our world, we can see God moving and making a way of salvation for us.

Bull-Headed by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we are taking a look at the cyclical nature of sin in the book of Judges. Repeatedly, God’s people fell into sin, suffered the consequences, and were delivered, only to go right back to the same sin! Times may have changed, but God’s people still have this same problem of returning to the same sin over and over again. This weekend’s message is titled “BULL-HEADED”.

Homestead by Abidan Shah, PhD

In this weekend’s message, we will pick up the account of Caleb promising his daughter, Achsah, to Othniel as a result of him clearing the land of enemies. Achsah and Othniel were able to come together and build something for the future, but there is a deeper truth about who Christ is for us to uncover in their story. The title of this weekend’s message is “HOMESTEAD.”

Abundant by Dr. Abidan Shah

ABUNDANT – 1 by Dr. Shah, Clearview Church, Henderson, NC Introduction:  How many of ya’ll were up at 12 midnight to welcome the new year? How many were up past 1, 2, 3, 4, 5? I was up in body but sleep in spirit. Someone said, “Youth is when you’re allowed to stay up for New […]

Proclaim: Part Two by Dr. Abidan Shah

PROCLAIM 2 by Dr. Shah, Clearview Church, Henderson, NC PROCLAIM 2 Introduction:  Have you ever felt isolated? I’m not talking about just lonely but stranded alone. I’m reminded of the movie “Cast Away” starring Tom Hanks who plays a FedEx employee stranded on an uninhabited island when his plane crashed in the South Pacific. At […]

Debt: Part 2 by Pastor Shah

This weekend, we will take a second look at the parable of the unforgiving servant. This time, we will be looking at the parable through the lens of extending forgiveness to other people. Offering forgiveness after we have been wronged is often difficult to do, but when we understand what we have been forgiven by God, it becomes the obvious choice. The title of this weekend’s message is “DEBT: PART TWO.”

Backsliding Mind by Pastor Abidan Shah

In this final message, we take a look at Paul’s warning against falling back into a sinful pattern simply because he is absent. He tells the Philippians to stand firm and not turn away from the things that they have learned or the work that God had begun in them. The title of this weekend’s message is “BACKSLIDING MIND.”

Kingdom Here by Pastor Abidan Shah

This weekend, we are focused on the kingdom of God. Many times, we think of God’s kingdom as a future reality, something that has yet to come. However, when Jesus came, he inaugurated the kingdom of God here on earth. Through His teaching and His life, He taught His disciples how to live a life fitting of God’s kingdom. The message this weekend is titled “KINGDOM HERE.”

Life Between Posts (Article) by Abidan Paul Shah

You’re scrolling through your favorite social media and you see the perfect picture with perfect smiles and perfect clothes with a perfect background. To top it all off, its accompanied by a perfect caption, including hashtags like #lovinglife #love #loveus #happiness #sohappy #perfectday #forever #natural – What do all these hashtags and the posts and pictures that accompany them have in common? They are deceiving. They only give a partial, wishful, and concocted glimpse of life. I wish people would also add these hashtags to their posts and pictures– #pleasethinkImhappy #pretendwithmethatallisfine #IwishIfeltlikethispicture #Iwishwecouldalwaysbethishappy #justhadafight #abouttohaveafight #tookme20triestogetthispicture.

Unlike Us by Pastor Abidan Shah

UNLIKE US by Pastor Shah, Clearview Church, Henderson Introduction:  Do you remember that old joke? A teacher asked her kindergarteners to draw a picture of someone very important. All the kids began drawing a picture of mom, dad, or some famous person in history. After 15-20 minutes, the teacher noticed that all the kids were done […]

The Sin-Forgiver by Pastor Abidan Shah

What Jesus was implying was that He was God. This message will again challenge us to remember that Jesus has the power to forgive us our sins, which is greater than any miracle story.

Skeletons in the Family Closet by Pastor Abidan Shah

The message coming up this weekend is titled – “SKELETONS IN THE FAMILY CLOSET.” Every family, even the good ones, has them. This message will help you deal with them positively and move forward with confidence and hope.

Pure Motives, Clear Life

Today we are in part 3 of our series on worry and anxiety from the Sermon on the Mount called “PUTTING ANXIETY TO WORK” and today’s message is titled – “PURE MOTIVES, CLEAR LIFE.” Matthew 6 22 “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

Anger Management Part Four

In this message we will understand three basic things – Anger that lashes out, Anger that looks back, and Anger that lingers on. All this is coming straight out of the text in Matthew 5:21-30. The previous three messages were laying out the foundation for the series. This one is application all the way.

Anger Management Part Three

Last weekend we learned how to have anger “with a cause.” This weekend we will see what anger “without a cause” looks like. So many of us are guilty of being upset and mad about things that do not matter. We end up destroying relationships, embarrassing ourselves, and disgracing our Savior.

The Blessing of Spiritual Vision

We live in a world that is defiled by sin and evil. It clouds our vision of God. Every time we try to visualize God, some impurity of life gets in the way. It requires a solid commitment to repent from sin and submit to the leadership of the Holy Spirit. Then and only then will we see the hand of God all around us. As Hebrews 12:14 also reminds us, “Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.”

In this message we will seek to answer three important questions: 1. Who are the pure in heart? 2. What does it mean to see God? & 3. How does this blessing work?
