Inside Out: Growing Pains by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we will turn our attention to the kids and teenagers in our lives. The Christian life is not only about us making it through difficult times. We are to help those around us as well. This is never truer than with the young minds that God has entrusted to us. Our next installment in this series is titled “INSIDE OUT: GROWING PAINS.”

Death Dethroned: Heaven by Abidan Shah, PhD

For this Easter weekend, it is fitting that we turn our attention to heaven. There are many misconceptions about heaven, with some people even taking Bible verses out of context or misinterpreting them. We have already learned about the bodily resurrection coming one day, but where will those bodies go and what will it be like there? We will answer these questions and more in this final message of our series.

Partakers by Abidan Shah, PhD

Last weekend, I began a new series titled “ON TRACK” that will help us grow in our spiritual disciplines. We learned that unchecked desires lead to a life that is off track. This weekend as we celebrate communion together, we will learn what it means to have the nature of Christ. We are human, and yet if we are believers the Bible says that we share in the divine nature. What does that mean? We’ll uncover that and more this weekend in our message titled “PARTAKERS”.

Knowledge by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we turn our attention to the Table of Nations. Throughout Scripture, it is clear that ancient nations and peoples knew about the God of the Bible. In time, however, these nations forgot or at times chose to forget. Where did this knowledge come from and how did it fade from their memory? What are the implications for our understanding of the Bible? The title of this weekend’s message is “KNOWLEDGE”.

Intercede by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we will be diving into the subject of prayer. We will learn some common misconceptions about prayer and take a look at what the Bible says our prayer lives ought to look like. Prayer is a vital part of our spiritual health and if neglected, can produce some harsh consequences. The title of this weekend’s message is “INTERCEDE.”

Church-Autopsy: Nauseous by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we are examining the seventh and final church in the book of Revelation: Laodicea. Of all the churches, this one is the most well-known, likely because of the language used. The church is called “lukewarm” and Jesus says he will vomit them out of his mouth. What does it mean to be lukewarm and what is the message for us today? The title of this weekend’s message is “CHURCH-AUTOPSY: NAUSEOUS.”

Church-Autopsy: Fainthearted by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we are studying the second church listed in Revelation: Smyrna. Smyrna was facing tremendous hardship and was in danger of falling to the pressure and fear of persecution. God reminded them of the importance of standing up under that pressure and remaining faithful. We will learn from their example how to stand firm in the face of trials and what the reward is for a life of obedience. This weekend’s message is titled “CHURCH-AUTOPSY: FAINTHEARTED.”

Generations: Impacting by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we are going to look specifically at Gen Z and Generation Alpha. These are our children and grandchildren and the ones currently most in touch with the culture around us. We cannot afford to misunderstand or neglect these generations, because the world is aiming for their minds and hearts. If we can understand Gen Z and Generation Alpha, not only can we impact them for the gospel, but equip them to impact the world around them. This weekend’s message is titled “GENERATIONS: IMPACTING”.

Laughter by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we are continuing to move through the lives of Abraham and Sarah. They have struggled to understand God’s promise and see the ways he has been working in their lives. God plainly reminds them both that the promise will result in a child, their child, that will usher in blessings for the entire world. Sarah laughs, first in disbelief and later in joy at the birth of her son, Isaac. The title of this weekend’s message is “MAN OF PROMISE: LAUGHTER.”

Kingdom by Abidan Shah, PhD

In this weekend’s message, we will look at Abraham and Sarah specifically. God’s hand was on them as they began their journey out of Ur. However, Abraham made a critical mistake in taking his wife right into the heart of the kingdom of the Serpent: Egypt. What did this mean for Abraham, Sarah, and God’s plan as a whole? The title of this weekend’s message is “KINGDOM.”

Man of Promise by Abidan Shah, PhD

Abraham and Sarah are often depicted as this no-name family moving from Ur to God’s Promised Land. However, they were much more than just wanderers. Abraham, Sarah, and others around them knew something was going on, that God’s plan was in motion. They could see God blessing them and protecting them as they followed His plan in obedience and faith, ultimately leading to the birth of Jesus. The title of this weekend’s message is “MAN OF PROMISE.”

Tyranny: Part 1 by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we are turning our attention to the Tower of Babel. This is a very blatant example of disobedience to God’s command to fill the earth. Many of us are familiar with the story and with the consequences of the people’s actions. However, there is a much deeper theological truth to be learned from this account. The title of this weekend’s message is “TYRANNY: PART 1.”

Secure by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we will continue our study of the account of Noah. While the storms and floodwaters raged outside, Noah and his family were safe within the ark. This not only shows God’s provision for Noah, but reminds us how He protects all of His people. The title of this weekend’s message is “SECURE.”

Wanderer by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we will continue our study of Cain, looking at the events of his life after he murdered Abel. There are many questions and speculations about the nature of Cain’s punishment and how he spent the rest of his days. In this message, we will uncover the truth not only about Cain’s life but also about God, both His justice and mercy. This weekend’s message is titled “WANDERER.”

Brightness by Dr. Abidan Shah

This weekend, we are looking at the creation of the sun on the fourth day in Genesis 1. The sun is often something we take for granted, but life on earth wouldn’t exist without it. God set it exactly the right distance from earth and made it exactly the right temperature to sustain life for His creation. The title of this weekend’s message is “BRIGHTNESS.”

Plunder by Dr. Abidan Shah

This weekend, we conclude Isaiah 53 and focus on the reward for Jesus’ obedience. Isaiah writes about Jesus’ seeing generations beyond Himself, pointing forward to the resurrection and His victory over death and the grave. We were stolen out of God’s hand, but Christ came to rob the grave and steal us back. The title of today’s message is “PLUNDER.”

Astray by Dr. Abidan Shah

This weekend, we are examining our relationship with Christ and how we have wandered away from what we know to be true. Like sheep, we have turned away, but our Good Shepherd has taken our sins upon Himself. The title of this weekend’s message is “ASTRAY.”

Vicarious by Dr. Abidan Shah

This weekend, we are continuing our study of Isaiah 53. Isaiah writes about someone suffering in our place. The suffering that was meant for us was laid upon another and we were healed as a result. This idea is one that is directly tied to the very core doctrines of Christianity and our understanding of the cross. The title of this weekend’s message is “VICARIOUS.”

Assignment by Dr. Abidan Shah

This weekend, we are taking a look at Peter’s call to submit to various forms of authority. Submission is a word that can mean many different things to people. However, for the believer, it is a means of honoring God and obeying His calling on our lives. The title of this weekend’s message is “ASSIGNMENT”.
