This weekend, we are continuing through Paul’s letter to the Philippians. Paul is holding himself up as an example of what it means to continue moving forward and growing in the Christian life. He reminds his readers that developing a Christlike mindset is a journey. God continues to refine us as we pursue His will. The title of this weekend’s message is “PRESS ON.”
This weekend, our focus is on Paul’s command to the Philippians to be unified, pursuing God’s will together as a body of believers. Paul warned against division and encouraged his readers to be like-minded by pursuing the mind of Christ. The gospel is what keeps believers focused and moving toward a common goal. The title of this weekend’s message is “SINGLE-MINDED.”
DIVISIVE MIND by Pastor Shah, Clearview Church, Henderson, NC Introduction: One of my favorite episodes on the Andy Griffith Show is the one where Andy plays the marriage counsellor. LIKE-MINDED by Pastor Shah, Clearview Church, Henderson Introduction: Few years ago, we were at a family camp in Bryson City and one of the outdoor activities was canoeing. Nicole and I got into this two-person canoe. She had plenty of experience from her days as a camp counsellor in Texas. I had very little experience and I kept paddling in the wrong... This weekend, we will be taking a look at the collective impact of the church. We are more than just a gathering of individuals. We are a body, joined together by God for a specific mission: to reach the world with the message of the gospel. We are each capable of accomplishing much for the Lord on our own. However, it is only when we are united in our purpose and our efforts that God can use the church to make a profound impact. The title of this weekend’s message is “JOINT IMPACT.”
In this episode, the Clearview Church staff all sit down to talk about the importance of unity and how it can be achieved in our daily lives. If you have any topics you’d like us to discuss, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org!
UNITED by Pastor Shah, Clearview Church, Henderson Introduction: Have any of ya’ll ever walked into an establishment like a restaurant where the waiters or waitresses didn’t get along? The meal was good but the atmosphere gave you a heartburn! Have any of you ever been to someone’s house where the family members didn’t get along? The house... Continue Reading →
This weekend, we come to the third letter of the acronym WATER, which stands for “Together.” In the book of Acts, the believers were united by a common purpose and desire to see the gospel spread to the nations. Their unity made them stand out from those around them and drew people to the truth of who Jesus is and what He accomplished. The title of this week’s message is “DISCIPLESHIP 3: TOGETHER.”
This weekend, our message is titled “STEADFAST.” Paul encouraged the Philippians to stand up under persecution and maintain an eternal perspective on the sufferings of life. He tells them to remain steadfast, but it’s not an individualistic command. Paul tells the Philippians to stand firm together, being unified for the sake of the gospel.
Many times in Scripture, the church is compared to a body. It is composed of many members with different functions that work together for the good of the whole. The same should be true of the church, especially where men are concerned. Becoming spiritually mature isn’t just learning more about God; it’s about stepping up to lead by serving.
Last month Americans all across the land proved with their ballots that they were dissatisfied with the direction of our country. What is being called “one of the greatest political shakeups in history” is a glimpse into the soul of the real USA. Americans have overwhelmingly declared that they do care about the economy, security, and morality of their country. They do want a better world for their children and grandchildren. Once again they are seeing a future and a hope. These are indeed exciting times in our nation’s history. Along with the other positive changes, here are some more that we cannot afford to ignore:
It is no secret that God has established our nation to be a city on a hill. We have been through rough waters before. But our predecessors trusted God and made the necessary course corrections. This message will challenge us to do the same.
This is such a sacred, meaningful time as we look back at the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross for us. It also reminds us of the connection we have with other believers in the family of God. Communion is not just some old ritual. It is the foundation of our unity in Christ.
MARKS OF AN ENCOURAGING CHURCH – 2 by Pastor Shah, Clearview, Henderson In this message we will come face-to-face with many different characters from the early church. They were flesh and blood human beings just like us. But, they were worthy enough to be mentioned in the Bible because they were a great source of... Continue Reading →
DARING TO CONNECT by Pastor Shah, Clearview Church, Henderson We are not called to be Lone Ranger Christians. DIVIDED.....WE ARE FALLING “United We Stand, Divided We Fall.” The slogan first appeared in the fourth verse of “The Liberty Song”—a patriotic song written by John Dickinson in protest of the Townshend Acts of 1767. The laws were meant to show the colonists that the mother country was still in charge and could levy taxes as... Continue Reading →
