Let’s take the time to evaluate our words and make the necessary changes. As the Holy Spirit fills our heart with truth and mercy, there will be a change in how we speak to others. Are you aware of the power your words hold? Are you reflecting Christ in the way you speak to others or post online? Do your words point people to Christ? Are you saved? Invite your friends and family to come worship with us this weekend!
DIVISIVE MIND by Pastor Shah, Clearview Church, Henderson, NC Introduction: One of my favorite episodes on the Andy Griffith Show is the one where Andy plays the marriage counsellor. Fred Boone and his wife Jennie are some of the nicest people in Mayberry but they have one problem – they can’t get along with each other.... Continue Reading →
This next message is titled “The Joy-Producer.” We will learn from Jesus’ miracle at the wedding in Cana how he brought joy to us through his coming. This is very important because many of us think and believe that truth is only negative and it only hurts. Nothing could be further from the truth. Know Jesus, Know Joy!
In this message titled “Comfort and Joy” we will learn how Moses reassured the children of Israel that after his death God will send a new leader who will bring comfort and joy to them.
In this weekend’s message titled “Children That Bring Delight,” we will see what the Trinity has to say about being children who honor their parents.
Introduction: This evening I want to preach a message I’ve preached before but not from the pulpit. I preached it in front of our fireplace last winter when we were snowed in and, if you remember, we came together on Facebook Live and Periscope. This sermon comes from one of my favorite passages from the Bible – Romans 15:13 and it’s called – “WHEN ALL SEEMS HOPELESS.”
Christianity is more than just a come and sit religion. It is a call to do go and serve. We are saved to serve. Many Christians feel as if something is missing in their Christian walk. They search high and low for some secret formula to joy and fulfillment but to no avail. True joy and fulfillment can only be found in allowing the Holy Spirit to find a place for us to serve in God’s Kingdom.
Are you facing a hopeless situation in your life? Do these words sound familiar? – “I’ve given up…” “I just don’t think it’s going to work…” “There’s nothing else left…” Do you know the impact hopelessness makes on your personal health? According to a 1997 article published by the American Heart Association – those who have gone through extreme feelings of despair had a 20% greater increase of arteriosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) over a 4-year period. If hopelessness is your daily companion, then today’s message is for you. My prayer is that the Holy Spirit will bring hope to your heart so that you can live again. But let me remind you – you cannot have the Holy Spirit until you accept Jesus as your Savior. Are you saved?
It is that time of year when things start getting hectic with Thanksgiving around the corner and Christmas not too far away. Unfortunately, people get stressed out with work, shopping, cooking, cleaning, etc. and miss out on the real meaning of Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Through the years many people have approached me with the desire to study the Bible in the original languages. Not that they don’t trust the Bible in their English translations, they just have a hunger for more. The pattern is quite familiar – They ask me for resources. I provide them with the best tools. They wade into the murky waters of Grammar, Syntax, and Critical Issues of the biblical text. Some go farther than others but inevitably they all turn to familiar shores, never to venture again. It is truly unfortunate… Hence, these “Daily Devotions from the Original Greek.” They are in no way exhaustive exegetical commentaries. They’re simply my personal devotions based on the original languages. Hopefully, they will inspire some to cast anchor and sail into uncharted waters. My prayer is that you won’t despair when the winds howl or the waves threaten to overturn the boat. οἱ ἄνεμοι καὶ ἡ θάλασσα ὑπακούουσιν αὐτῷ. (Matt. 8:27)
HOW TO BEHAVE THIS CHRISTMAS SEASON - 4 by Pastor Shah, Clearview, Henderson You know Christmas is here when: it takes you an hour to drive somewhere that normally takes 15 minutes; you can't find a parking place at the mall; and people who are normally congenial snap at you. This series is to help... Continue Reading →
