And, yes – those are the same ministries that He still does for His people today. What is He doing in your life right now?

Before the Manger: How Can a Baby Change My Life?
Many people have a very limited or shallow view of the baby that was born in the manger 2000 years ago. They ask – “What can a little baby do for us? After all, he needs us more than we need him!”
But, when we understand who the baby really was before He was born, it changes our perspective. Unlike us, He existed before He came into this world. In fact, He was doing great and mighty things that no human could ever do. He entered our world to do even greater things. When we invite Him into our lives, He transforms us forever.
Can You Handle the Truth About Jesus?
In our series on the life of Christ we come to the passage where Jesus goes to His hometown of Nazareth. At first everything was alright and the locals even admired Him for how He spoke. Then Jesus appropriated the passage from Isaiah 61 to Himself about the Spirit of the Lord being upon Him. At that moment they were angry and began to push Him off the cliff. Jesus rebuked them for rejecting Him.
Isn’t this true of us? We like the truth as long as it is comfortable and does not demand obedience. But the moment we are confronted with a truth that demands transformation, we find ways to avoid or even deny it.
Location, Location, Location!
This weekend we will be watching a message right from the banks of the Jordan River. As many of you know, Nicole and I were in Israel last month and we recorded a message about the baptism of Jesus on site. Words cannot describe the excitement we felt! It was a powerful moment when we realized that somewhere near was the actual spot where God in flesh submitted to be baptized by John! Even with the distractions of camera clicks, gift shops, and tour buses, I could feel the reality of the Holy Spirit descending upon Jesus! What is most powerful to me is how the Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) was present together at this place! It’s a reminder that the entire Godhead was involved in our salvation.
TWO GIFTS WORTH OPENING THIS CHRISTMAS
We take time off, brave the crowds, and spend our hard earned money to buy presents because we like to see our loved ones happy. We find joy in seeing them excited. So also, God takes delight in seeing us open the two greatest gifts He sent us in His Son Jesus – grace and truth.
This is one message we cannot afford to miss. Many Christians are living in condemnation when they should be walking by grace. Other Christians are living in lies when they should be walking in the truth. Grace lifts us up and truth sets us free.
