ONE NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION WORTH KEEPING

Some people don’t like to make resolutions. “Why make promises you can’t keep?” “Why feel bad over broken promises?” Although, resolutions can be a waste of time and an unnecessary source of self-condemnation, it is still wise to strive towards something than none at all. I personally think that it’s a good thing to make the right resolutions.

Many of our resolutions are regarding bad habits and behaviors that we want to stop. Unfortunately, we have a poor understanding of why we do the bad things we do. In other words, why we sin? No wonder we go about the wrong way to stop sinning. This message will get us on the biblical path to repentance and walking in holiness. Trust me when I say – “This is one message you don’t want to miss!”

WHAT A LIFE DIRECTED BY THE SPIRIT LOOKS LIKE

In Luke 2 we meet Simeon who was directed by the Holy Spirit to recognize the coming of Jesus Christ. The Bible describes him as a person who was just and devout, hope filled, and full of grace and truth. These are the characteristics of a person who is under the authority of the Holy Spirit.

What the world needs is to see men and women who are led by the Holy Spirit. Our community needs to see us walking in integrity, filled with hope for the future, speaking the truth in grace, and pointing people to Jesus.

HOW TO SPEAK YOUR CONVICTIONS

It’s easy to talk about God when we are at church or sitting in a Bible study or among other Christians but it’s hard to stand for the truth in the world. Our world needs to hear us stand up for biblical convictions. This does not mean that we have to be arrogant, belligerent, or pushy. It means we lovingly and courageously tell people what Jesus can do for them.

WHEN IT’S HARD TO WAIT

God’s ways haven’t changed. He wants us to learn to be patient and wait on God’s timing. It’s not easy. In his timing He gives us much more than we expected. Zacharias and Elizabeth were just hoping to have someone carry on the family name. Instead, they received the herald of the Son of God.

SIGNS THAT YOU ARE TRULY SAVED

Salvation brings certain changes in your life. There will be a difference in your life before Christ and since Christ.
