Reasoning by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, I want to focus on our mind, specifically our thoughts. In Paul’s letter to the Philippians, he spent a great deal of time talking about the mind and how to bring thoughts under control. Our minds often threaten to run away from us. What would it take to glorify God and focus on him with our very thoughts? The title of this weekend’s message is titled “REASONING”.

Defining Gospel by Pastor Abidan Shah

Our series takes a different turn this week. The message is titled “DEFINING GOSPEL.” We have been examining Paul’s relationship with the Philippian believers. This week, we are taking a look at Paul’s usage of the word “gospel.” If Paul looks at everything through the lens of the gospel, then we must understand what he means by the term if we are to rightly interpret the rest of the book.

Steadfast by Pastor Abidan Shah

This weekend, our message is titled “STEADFAST.” Paul encouraged the Philippians to stand up under persecution and maintain an eternal perspective on the sufferings of life. He tells them to remain steadfast, but it’s not an individualistic command. Paul tells the Philippians to stand firm together, being unified for the sake of the gospel.

Immortal by Pastor Abidan Shah

This weekend’s message is titled “IMMORTAL.” Paul’s words to the Philippians show that he was fearless in the faith of death. He knew what was waiting for him on the other side: an eternity in the presence of God. Paul was able to maintain an eternal perspective because he understood that this life is not all there is.

Perspective by Pastor Abidan Shah

This weekend’s message is titled “PERSPECTIVE.” Paul told the Philippians that everything that happened to him, both good and bad, served to spread the gospel. He even said that God used those who were preaching out of a spirit of competition with Paul to get the message of salvation to the nations.

Partners by Pastor Abidan Shah

This weekend’s message is titled “PARTNERS.” Paul regarded the Philippians as partners in the gospel; their relationship moved Paul to pray for them, that God would bless them and that they would abound in love. Paul’s love for the Philippians is evident in how he prays for them.

Transformed by Pastor Abidan Shah

The title of this message is “TRANSFORMED.” We will examine three very different individuals who encountered Paul and whose lives were completely changed by the power of the gospel. God used Paul’s ministry to meet these people where they were and transform their lives.

Redirected by Pastor Abidan Shah

We are all redirected by God. As we will explore in this weekend's message titled "Redirected," from Acts, door after door was closed to Paul. It would have been easy for him to lose heart. If Paul had another reaction to the closed doors, one of anger and bitterness, and had not waited, it would have been a bad situation.
