Looking for Grace and Truth by Pastor Abidan Shah

If you remember from last weekend’s message, Jesus told His opponents “Moses wrote about Me.” The question is – how and where did Moses mention Jesus? The clue is found in John 1:14 “…we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” If you want to find Jesus in the Old Testament, look for “grace and truth.” Those are the marks of the second person of the godhead.
Episode 9: History of Biblical Interpretation (Part 2)

Help! I’m Losing My Faith in the Bible.

Lately I’ve heard (more times than I would like to count) about another young man or woman who has turned away from Christianity to atheism or agnosticism. What would cause someone who grew up in church, went to Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Youth group to give it all up?
What would cause someone to turn their backs on the faith of their parents and grandparents? What would cause someone to discount that moment when they prayed to receive Christ?
Although the reasons are many, this Sunday we will focus on why some people turn their backs on the Bible. We will look at the incident when Jesus cleansed the temple in Jerusalem. While John mentions it at the start of Jesus’ ministry, Matthew, Mark, and Luke mention it towards the close of His ministry. This has caused some people to claim that the gospel writers made a clear mistake. Is this true?
HOW TO DEAL WITH THE FORBIDDEN FRUIT

It’s great to be back home in the Good Ole USA! As you know, Nicole and I went on an educational tour of Israel. Words cannot describe how amazing this trip was! To name just a few of the highlights —
we sailed across the Sea of Galilee,
– we stood on Har Megiddo (Armageddon) which will be the site of the final showdown,
– we drove through the wilderness where the children of Israel wandered for 40 years,
– we prayed by the Western Wall
– and, among many many other places, we saw the Mount of Temptation near Jericho in the Judean desert.
This weekend I will preaching on the temptation of Christ in our series on the life of Christ. The message is titled “HOW TO DEAL WITH THE FORBIDDEN FRUIT.”

KEEPING YOUR SPIRITUAL FIRE BURNING

KEEPING YOUR SPIRITUAL FIRE BURNING One of the saddest sights for me is to see a Christian who began in a fire or a church that began in a fire or a Christian work that began in a fire but now living in a smoke. William Booth (Founder of the Salvation Army) once said to […]
