How To Be a Verbal Arsonist By Dr. Abidan Shah

This weekend, we are addressing the issue of our speech. The kinds of words we use, the way we speak to others, and how our words shape the world around us; James has much to say about all of this. Speech is a powerful gift from God that, when used wrongly, can have devastating consequences, much like an uncontrolled fire. I would imagine most of us have found this to be true. We’ll talk about the consequences of our words and how to keep them in check this weekend!
The Case for The New Testament: Preservation of the Word by Dr. Abidan Shah

This weekend, we will continue our study of the Bible as we look at the way God’s Word has been preserved through the centuries. While we no longer have the autographs of Scripture, we can say with utmost certainty that what we hold in our hands is truly the Word of God. Throughout the years, God has protected the process of the preservation and transmission of Scripture. We’ll uncover what that means for us as we worship together this weekend!
The Case for the New Testament: Power of the Word by Dr. Abidan Shah

In this weekend’s message, we will move from talking about what Scripture is to what Scripture does in our lives. The Bible is the only book that, as you read it, changes you. However, neglecting the study of God’s Word and surrounding yourself with people who do the same is a recipe for disaster. I believe this message will help guard us from the lies of the world and help us to build our lives upon the truth of the Bible.
End-Times Prophecy | Act Two: Preaching Matters

In this weekend’s message, we are continuing to walk through the book of Romans. Paul addresses the topic of preaching and its unique place in the plan of God. Personal evangelism is obviously important, but there is something special and important about a man of God opening the Bible and exhorting, admonishing, and encouraging a body of believers. What place does preaching have in the plan of God? Come find out this weekend!
Public Square by Abidan Shah, PhD

In this weekend’s message, we will examine what the Bible says about Christians being involved in the public square. There is a pervasive misunderstanding of what the separation of church and state truly means. People, usually those with an anti-Christian agenda, use this rhetoric to claim that Christians have no place in the political sector. That was never the original intent and is an entirely harmful line of reasoning, not only for believers but for America as a nation. What will it take to return us to being “one nation under God?”
End-Times Prophecy: Mapping History (pt.2) by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we will continue to examine God’s design throughout history. In his letter to the Romans, Paul is holding up the Roman believers as an example to others. His letter is unique in that he does not seem to be addressing a particular situation or controversy but rather provides a guide of core beliefs for all Christians. In doing so, he offers a guide for us today on how the church should function and believe.
End-Times Prophecy: Mapping History by Abidan Shah PhD

As we head back into our series this weekend, I want to focus on tracing God’s plan throughout history. Since time began, God has been writing the story of creation. While things might seem out of control at times, the Bible reminds us that God has always been and will always be in control. End-times prophecy reminds us especially of God’s sovereignty and his providence both in our lives and throughout all of history.
Calamity by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we will examine the story of Deborah. Her story is often presented as one of the examples of the Bible elevating women, and certainly, that is true. However, as we will learn this weekend, there is much more to her than just being an example of God working through women. This weekend’s message is titled “CALAMITY”.
GPS: Guidance by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we come to the end of our series. We will focus specifically on the relationship view of God’s will. How can we perceive God’s guidance in our everyday lives? The Bible is clear that God leads us, but what does that look like and how can we know we are listening to the right source? We will answer these questions and more in this weekend’s message titled “GPS DESTINATION: GUIDANCE”.
Death Dethroned: Hell by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we are setting our sights on eternity. We have talked about the promise of our resurrection one day. However, there is also a coming judgment. Those who are not believers will enter a terrible fate of torment and separation from God. There are those who would downplay or disagree with it, but the Bible is clear that hell is a real place and a real consequence of rejecting salvation. This weekend will help answer some serious questions and help us articulate the gospel to our friends and family members.
Death Dethroned by Abidan Shah, PhD

As we begin our series this weekend, we will look at ancient Egyptian culture and customs regarding death and the afterlife compared to what Scripture teaches. God’s Word reminds us that death is not a natural part of life, but an enemy to be defeated. As we approach Easter, we will learn what it means that Christ was victorious over death and the implications for our daily lives. This weekend’s message is the introduction to our series “DEATH DETHRONED.”
Church-Autopsy: Death’s Door by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we are examining the fifth church in the book of Revelation: Sardis. At the time of Revelation, Sardis had gone the way of many churches today. They had a positive reputation but, they were spiritually dead. They were warned to wake up or be snuffed out completely. This is the case for many of our churches today. We, like Sardis, need to wake up and return to God! The title of this weekend’s message is “CHURCH-AUTOPSY: DEATH’S DOOR.”
Tyranny (Article)

The history of the world shows that in every generation there arises someone who wants to create a global government to gain ultimate power. It began first at the Tower of Babel when people rejected God’s command to “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth” and decided to come together and build a city and “a tower whose top is in the heavens.” About this time, a man named Nimrod rose in power who was a hunter, not of animals but of men. Some early sources describe him as a dictator who tried to turn people away from God to follow him. God had to come down and scatter humanity so it would not be enslaved.
Harvest by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we are going to expand on this idea of sharing the gospel with others. The Bible compares the world around us to a field ready to harvest. How will the harvest be gathered? How do you know what to harvest? What is the point of the crops that are gathered? We will examine these questions as they relate to our mission as believers and as a church family. The title of this weekend’s message is “HARVEST.”
Sacred by Dr. Abidan Shah

This weekend, we are continuing our study of the canon of Scripture. There are many religions that either add to the canon of books that the church has traditionally considered inspired or mishandle the ones we do consider to be Scripture. How does understanding the canon of Scripture help us to better see which religions are inaccurate, even if they appear close in their beliefs? The title of this weekend’s message is “SACRED”.
Inspiration by Dr. Abidan Shah

Last weekend, we compared the Bible to the Qur’an and looked at how both Islam and Christianity view inspiration and the content of each book. This weekend, we will examine the sacred texts of Hinduism and how they compare to the Bible. The title of this weekend’s message is “INSPIRATION”.
Revelation by Dr. Abidan Shah

If you remember from last weekend, we are going to spend several weeks looking at the Bible and how we should handle God’s Word. This weekend, we are comparing the Bible to the holy books and sacred texts of other religions. Is the Bible different or is it just another religious text like any other? What puts the Bible in a class of its own? The title of this weekend’s message is “REVELATION”.
Authority by Dr. Abidan Shah

This weekend, we are taking a look at the Bible itself. Throughout the years, there has been much debate as to the canon of Scripture. How were the books included in our Bible chosen and how should we view those that were not included? God’s Word is perfect, but we must understand how it was originally compiled in order to defend it. The title of this weekend’s message is “AUTHORITY.”
Rescued by Dr. Abidan Shah

In this weekend’s message, we will actually turn our attention to Psalm 34 and examine David’s words after his poor choices. They are a reminder to all generations that God rescues His people from trouble, even if that trouble is caused by our own hands. The title of this weekend’s message is “RESCUED”.
Onward by Dr. Abidan Shah

Joshua and Caleb are known for showing courage and steadfast faith in the face of difficult odds. They encountered opposition, both from the native inhabitants on the Promised Land as well as from their own people! Yet these men remained determined to push forward. The title of this weekend’s message is “ONWARD.”
