As we approach Holy Week, I want to begin a series titled “ANASTASIS”. This is the Greek word for resurrection. Many of us have heard the language of the empty tomb or Christ rising from the dead, but what does that mean for us? How does that change our perspective on life and belief? Over the next few weeks, we will dive into this idea of resurrection and how that impacts our understanding of the Christian life. This weekend’s message is titled “ANASTASIS: FOUNDATIONS”.
Parenting IQ: Introduction by Dr. Abidan Shah
This weekend, we will lay a foundation for our understanding of brain development as a whole. Much more than just parenting, we as believers should work toward a biblical understanding of how our minds grow and mature. This will help us be better parents, mentors, counselors, and followers of God!
Regeneration by Dr. Abidan Shah
This weekend, we are turning a corner in our series. As we have learned, salvation is both a moment and process in the life of every believer. It involves a person going from being spiritually dead to being alive in Christ. But what does that mean? And how does it change the way we celebrate Easter? The title of this weekend’s message is “REGENERATION.”
Justification: Indispensable by Dr. Abidan Shah
In the weeks leading up to Easter, we will begin new series focused on the cross and what Jesus has accomplished for us. Most believers have a very incomplete understanding of the cross. The concepts of salvation, justification, and atonement, however, are central to our faith. We will gain a better understanding of Christ’s work on the cross through this series titled “JUSTIFICATION.”
Plunder by Dr. Abidan Shah
This weekend, we conclude Isaiah 53 and focus on the reward for Jesus’ obedience. Isaiah writes about Jesus’ seeing generations beyond Himself, pointing forward to the resurrection and His victory over death and the grave. We were stolen out of God’s hand, but Christ came to rob the grave and steal us back. The title of today’s message is “PLUNDER.”
Herald by Dr. Abidan Shah
This Easter Sunday, as we celebrate what Christ has accomplished through His death and resurrection, we come to the last message in our series "HOSANNA." We will take a look at Luke's Gospel and his account of the women who visited Jesus' tomb. They overcame their fear and, as a result, became the first heralds of the resurrected King! The disciples themselves didn't earn such an honor because they were paralyzed by fear. The title of this weekend's message is "HERALD."
Triumphant by Dr. Abidan Shah
TRIUMPHANT by Dr. Shah, Clearview Church, Henderson, NC Introduction: I have been to many big cities, but my favorite ones to visit, not live, is Washington DC. I love all the iconic sites (Washington monument, Lincoln Memorial, World War 2 memorial, Capitol Building). We’ve even filmed there before. Our family loves to visit there as well.... Victory by Dr. Shah, Clearview Church
VICTORY by Dr. Shah, Clearview Church, Henderson, NC Introduction: Words can have multiple meanings. Think about words like “bark” (on a tree or a dog’s bark) or Bolt (metal fastener or lightning bolt). Then, there are words that have derived from one or the other and they have different meanings: Express—Newspaper print but then extended to refer... Continue Reading →
Lord by Pastor Abidan Shah
We are continuing in our series through Philippians 2:5-11 called “MIND RESET.” We’ve been studying the words of Paul and what it means to have the mind of Christ. This Easter weekend, we will learn what it means for Jesus to be called “Lord.” Sometimes we overuse that word to the point it begins to lose meaning. We will look at the term with fresh eyes this weekend in our message titled “LORD.”
Fearless Love by Pastor Abidan Shah
As you know, this weekend we will be celebrating Easter as a church. What a wonderful time of worship and rejoicing as we remember the resurrection of our Savior. We will be taking a look at the story of Jesus’ resurrection from the perspective of His followers. How did it affect them? How did they respond? For many of them, their actions were fueled by something much deeper than obedience. They were motivated by a love that gave them boldness and purpose. The title of this weekend’s Easter message is “FEARLESS LOVE.”
Senseless Obedience by Pastor Abidan Shah
Typically on Palm Sunday, we hear messages about Jesus entering Jerusalem. However, this year, I want to focus on what takes place immediately before His entrance into the city. Jesus commanded His disciples to untie a colt and bring it to Him to ride upon. On the surface, this command doesn’t make sense, but the disciples obeyed anyway. The title of this week’s message is “SENSELESS OBEDIENCE.”
Alive: What Jesus’ Resurrection Means for Us
Contrary to what many consider, the resurrection of Jesus is not some stale doctrine based on some event that took place 2000 years ago. In fact, it is one of the most applicable doctrine of Christianity.
Heaven Here and Now Part Three
In this Sunday’s message we will look at I Corinthians 15 – the key passage in the entire Bible on the resurrection. This is one message you cannot afford to miss.
Heaven Here and Now – Part One
This weekend I will be preaching a series on the Resurrection. As we embark on the Easter season , this series will teach us the importance of the resurrection to our Christian life. Resurrection is not just something that we will benefit from when we go to heaven. It is something that impacts our lives right now.
How To Beat Death
Today we are celebrating Easter Sunday. It commemorates the day Jesus rose from the grave. With that in mind, I am preaching a message titled “HOW TO BEAT DEATH.” Unless Jesus comes for us first, death is coming to all of us.
