This weekend, we will continue this introductory series to prophecy by looking at the importance of prayer. As you may know, this weekend is our 24-Hour Prayer Vigil. Prayer is vital in our understanding of prophecy because it is how God shifts our hearts to match his heart. Prayer changes things, namely the person doing the praying! The title of this weekend’s message is “PRAYING SAINTS”.
WHOM ARE YOU FOLLOWING?
In our series on the life of Christ we come to the passage where John the Baptizer points his disciples to Jesus. John could have hung on to his followers but he was willing to let them go for someone far better –Jesus, the Lamb of God. Even though Jesus superseded John, it must have still been hard for John to see all his followers abandon him for Jesus. Nonetheless, John knew that this had to happen.
Several questions come to mind: Who is following you? Are you leading them in the right direction? Better question – Are you leading them to the right person? Who are you following? Is His name Jesus? There’s no one truly worth following that is not following Jesus. Think about that.
