Jonah is a type of Jesus. His time in the belly of the great fish is a picture of the suffering of Jesus on the cross.
WHEN GOD’S CHILDREN DISOBEY
Jonah did not realize that his disobedience was not only going to affect his life but also the lives of others. Disobedience has consequences, sometimes long lasting. It is so much better to turn to our Heavenly Father when He calls our name the first time. It is also worth remembering that when God catches up with us He disciplines us. There is a world of difference between discipline and punishment. Discipline is to correct us and restore us. Praise God that He does not cast us away.
