This weekend marks the conclusion of this series on evangelism. We are called by God to be the light of the world. Light is integral in eliminating darkness and drawing attention to something. We are able to shine a light, but not because of anything within ourselves. The title of this weekend’s message is “LAMPSTAND.”
This weekend, we are continuing to examine the pictures for evangelism that Jesus gives his listeners. Jesus refers to himself as a shepherd and extends that metaphor to evangelism by talking about bringing sheep into the fold. What are we doing to reach the lost and bring them to our shepherd, Jesus Christ? The title of this weekend’s message is “SHEEPFOLD.”

This weekend, we will be taking a look at something we all know to be part of the Christian but many struggle with: evangelism. We have heard the commands in Scripture to go out and spread the gospel, but have a difficult time putting them into practice. Scripture does not call us to be the prosecution or defense attorneys in God’s courtroom. Nor are we supposed to be the judge of jury. We are witnesses to Christ and what He has done. The title of this weekend’s message is “THE WITNESS STAND.”
This weekend, we are starting a brand new series. Before you can be a disciple, you must believe in Jesus and trust Him for salvation. At the heart of everything that a disciple does, there must be a desire to see the lost come to faith. Over the next few weeks, we will be talking about salvation and recapturing a desire to see the lost around us believe for the first time. This series is titled “FIRST, BELIEVE.”
Last weekend, I introduced the acronym WATER to help us understand what being a disciple should look like. This weekend, we’ll be examining the first of those elements of being a disciple; the message is titled “DISCIPLESHIP 1: WITNESSES.” We’ll be taking a look at Acts and seeing how the disciples were to be witnesses to those around them.
We will look at the promise that was given to Daniel that at the resurrection "those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever."
We are all familiar with the account of Jonah being swallowed by the big fish but did you know that it enacted the resurrection of Jesus? Did you know that Jonah became a demonstration of the gospel of Christ?
In this message we will meet a desperate hopeless person who had an encounter with Christ. Do you know someone like this person? You feel sorry for them. You empathize with them. But have you introduced them to Christ?
In the first two messages in the series we met a religious man (Nicodemus) and an outcast (Samaritan woman). Both had an encounter with the Savior and were transformed. In this message we will meet a doubter. Even though He came to Christ, He did not trust His power. Jesus rebuked Him, answered His need, and transformed Him.
In this sermon we will meet an outcast and outspoken woman who is thirsty for eternal life. Jesus comes to meet her at the well and shows her the well of eternal springs. Do you know people like the Samaritan woman?
Now that I have your attention, let me confess – it is no secret. In fact, it’s been lying in plain sight for two thousand years! History shows that whenever men and women, boys and girls actually put it to use, churches were filled and the kingdom of God grew by leaps and bounds! Read on!
