We’ve talked about God the Father and God the Son — now it’s time for God the Holy Spirit, the person of the Trinity we think we understand but usually don’t. In this episode, we continue our Systematic Theology series with a deep dive into who the Holy Spirit actually is.
We start by clearing up a common misunderstanding: the Holy Spirit is not a force, an energy field, or a symbol like a dove — He is a full person, fully God, on the very same level as the Father and the Son. We walk through the Great Commission and a stack of New Testament passages that place all three persons of the Trinity side by side, then look at Ananias and Sapphira in Acts 5 to see just how seriously Scripture treats lying to the Spirit. From there we explore His work — giving life, empowering believers for service, and drawing people to Christ — and why His ultimate goal was never to make you successful, but to equip you to share the gospel.
