End-Times Prophecy: Faith to Faith by Abidan Shah, PhD

In this weekend’s message, we will examine the concept of faith. It is a common term in Christian circles, but what is faith truly, and how does it impact our understanding of salvation? Paul has much to say on the matter. Faith was an integral part of the formation of the early church and their understanding of the work of Christ on the cross. This message will help us understand the role of faith in our relationship with God and our daily walk with him.

End-Times Prophecy: Act One – Verdict by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we will see in the book of Romans how God’s judgment is coming for all mankind. The judgment of God is not something we discuss often, but it is a necessary part of his nature. Seeing the judicial language in Romans points ahead to God’s coming judgment in the book of Revelation. When we operate with the judgment of God in mind, it gives a sense of urgency in sharing the gospel with those around us!

End-Times Prophecy: Mapping History by Abidan Shah PhD

As we head back into our series this weekend, I want to focus on tracing God’s plan throughout history. Since time began, God has been writing the story of creation. While things might seem out of control at times, the Bible reminds us that God has always been and will always be in control. End-times prophecy reminds us especially of God’s sovereignty and his providence both in our lives and throughout all of history.

End-Times Prophecy: Mercy to the Israel of God by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend marks the beginning of our study of end-times prophecy! This series will shape our church and our understanding of God’s plan. While we will spend a considerable amount of time in Revelation, this weekend I want us to begin by looking at the book of Romans. We cannot rightly understand end-times without first grasping the relationship between God and the nation of Israel. God has always had a special plan for his people and that includes what will happen in the time to come. This first installment in our series will focus on the relationship between God and Israel and why that matters for our understanding of end-times prophecy.

Life Together by Abidan Shah, PhD

In this weekend’s message, we will be examining the concept of biblical community. This is coming from God’s Word, but also from the desires we have heard from many of you. The Christian life was never intended to be lived in isolation but among a family of brothers and sisters. This weekend’s message will chart a course for us moving forward and will reorient us to the concept of living life alongside one another. The title of this weekend’s message is “LIFE TOGETHER”.

Forever Worship by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we will continue this introductory series to prophecy by looking at the importance of worship. Worship is much more than a specific style of music or portion of service. It is also a prominent theme in the book of Revelation. Worship defines us as believers and is one of our core values here at Clearview. The title of this weekend’s message is “FOREVER WORSHIP”.

Wanted by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we are continuing to work through the account of Samson. Samson’s downfall took the form of Delilah, a woman being forced by her people to betray Samson. The Philistines were desperately trying to overcome Samson’s might. When God is using someone mightily, it irritates those who are against God. As with every moment of Samson’s life, there is an even deeper truth here that points toward Christ. The title of this weekend’s message is “WANTED”.

Truce by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we are continuing our study through the life of Samson. Samson made what appeared on the surface to be questionable choices. However, when we understand the culture of that day and the circumstances in the book of Judges, Samson’s choices not only make sense but he is presented as the hero he was always intended to be. This even affects how we view communion. The title of this weekend’s message is “TRUCE”.

Outgunned by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we are continuing our study through the life of Samson. Samson’s strength was perplexing to his enemies, meaning he did not look the part of a strong man. His strength came from the Lord, and it was evidenced in his displays of power. Much like Samson, when we are made weak, then God has the opportunity to make us strong. This is not of our own power or might, but the power of God in us. The title of this weekend’s message is “OUTGUNNED”.

Imposter by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we learn about Gideon’s successor, Abimelech. He played the part of a leader of God’s people, but he was a power-hungry charlatan. God’s people disobeyed as a result of his leadership and suffered the consequences. The Holy Spirit of God wants to put us on to accomplish God’s work but will not work through someone who is faking their faith or going through the motions. The title of this weekend’s message is “IMPOSTER”.

Strays by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we will enter into the transitional period between Deborah and the next judge, Gideon. The tribes of Israel all made excuses as to why they couldn’t show up to fight Sisera. After the time of Deborah, God called Gideon as the judge; however, he was very reluctant to step into the calling that God had for him. We often respond the same way to God’s call, full of excuses and trepidation. The title of this weekend’s message is “STRAYS”.

Who Will Be First by Abidan Shah, PhD

We are diving into a new series this weekend on the book of Judges. This book is filled with stories of men and women who, like American cowboys, are bold, peculiar, and compelling characters that are inspiring or serve as cautionary tales. They are examples of God using men and women to change the lives of those around them. This is the calling God has placed on all of us! Our new series is titled “WHO WILL BE FIRST?”

GPS: Destination – Relationships – Part 2 by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we will continue to examine God’s plan for our relationships. Last weekend, we looked at the wisdom view in finding God’s plan for the person you date and who you will marry. Now, we need to determine the criteria for the person we are looking for. What is a core value, what are essential, and what are non-essential traits? God’s word will help us uncover all of this and more in this weekend’s message titled “GPS DESTINATION: RELATIONSHIPS PT. 2”.

GPS: Destination – Career by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we will be looking at how to determine God’s plan for our career. This is often a question for people, either when they are graduating and embarking on the next chapter of their lives or when they feel dissatisfied with their current job. Is it possible to know God’s will regarding your career? Does what you do for a living play a role in your relationship with God or vice versa? We will examine these questions and more in this weekend’s message titled “GPS DESTINATION: CAREER”.

GPS: Starting Route by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we will begin our series by understanding how to discern God’s will for our lives. That is one of the most common questions I get from people. It’s a great question, but people often overcomplicate the answer. We will learn more about God’s will for us and how we can make sure we stay obedient to him in this weekend’s message “STARTING ROUTE”.

Inside Out: Ministry of the Thorn by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we come to our final message in this series. We have learned about the difference between stress and trauma and how to help others, especially children and teens, through traumatic events in life. This weekend, we will talk about the purpose of suffering itself. God used suffering in Paul’s life to refine and sharpen him, to give depth to his message, and to make him more like Christ. The title of this weekend’s message is “INSIDE OUT: MINISTRY OF THE THORN”.

Death Dethroned: Heaven by Abidan Shah, PhD

For this Easter weekend, it is fitting that we turn our attention to heaven. There are many misconceptions about heaven, with some people even taking Bible verses out of context or misinterpreting them. We have already learned about the bodily resurrection coming one day, but where will those bodies go and what will it be like there? We will answer these questions and more in this final message of our series.

Death Dethroned: Hell by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we are setting our sights on eternity. We have talked about the promise of our resurrection one day. However, there is also a coming judgment. Those who are not believers will enter a terrible fate of torment and separation from God. There are those who would downplay or disagree with it, but the Bible is clear that hell is a real place and a real consequence of rejecting salvation. This weekend will help answer some serious questions and help us articulate the gospel to our friends and family members.

Death Dethroned: Intermediate by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we will be taking a look at what happens after we die, specifically where we will go. What happens when we die? Do souls go to heaven or hell, or is there somewhere else that is a precursor to our eternal destination? We will answer these questions and more in this weekend’s message titled “DEATH DETHRONED: INTERMEDIATE.”

Tracking: Target by Abidan Shah, PhD

This weekend, we will examine the end of Peter’s list of characteristics to track as you grow closer to God. It is no coincidence that the list ends with love. While we might know that love is important in the Christian life, we likely do not realize the role it has to play in spiritual discipline. What is the significance of these different traits all leading to love? We will find out in this weekend’s message titled “TRACKING: TARGET”.
