Abound by Dr. Abidan Shah

This weekend, we will examine a very familiar passage in Paul’s letter to the Philippians. He is telling his readers that in every circumstance, he has learned how to be content. However, contentment cannot come at the expense of ambition. We must be able to be content while still moving forward in the race to which God has called us. The title of this weekend’s message is “ABOUND.”

True Gains by Dr. Abidan Shah

This weekend, we are moving forward in Paul’s letter to the Philippians. Paul is writes about His life before encountering Christ. He has every reason to boast in his accomplishments, but he states that all is worthless compared to having a relationship with Christ. His pedigree is meaningless in light of the cross. Paul reminds his readers that the true mark of success for the believer is having a relationship with Jesus. The title of this weekend’s message is “TRUE GAINS.”

Single-Minded by Dr. Abidan Shah

This weekend, our focus is on Paul’s command to the Philippians to be unified, pursuing God’s will together as a body of believers. Paul warned against division and encouraged his readers to be like-minded by pursuing the mind of Christ. The gospel is what keeps believers focused and moving toward a common goal. The title of this weekend’s message is “SINGLE-MINDED.”

Gospel-Centric by Dr. Abidan Shah

Last weekend, I began a series through the book of Philippians titled “COMMUNITY.” Now more than ever, we need to be reminded of the importance of meeting in a physical location and worshipping together physically. This weekend, we are continuing in our series on Paul’s letter to the Philippians. Paul wanted his readers to understand that above all else, the message of the gospel must be the focal point in the lives of believers. It should be our true north, guiding us through the storms and trials of life. This weekend’s message is titled “GOSPEL-CENTRIC.”

TRIUMPHANT by Dr. Shah, Clearview Church, Henderson, NC Introduction: I have been to many big cities, but my favorite ones to visit, not live, is Washington DC. Righteous Nation by Pastor Abidan Shah

From God’s perspective, righteousness is the secret to success as a nation. The timeline of history is littered with nations and peoples that have ceased to be, not because of famine, earthquake, pollution, or deforestation, but, because of unrighteousness.

Vicious Cycle (Article) by Abidan Paul Shah

Typically, we think that the reason God wanted to drive the Canaanites out of the land is because they were primitive savages. Nothing could be further from the truth. Here’s what we found:

(Re)Setting the Record Straight (Article) by Abidan Paul Shah

“America was founded as a Christian nation!” My father-in-law made that remark to me over twenty years ago. I remember hearing the frustration in his voice and being puzzled by it. I told him that I thought every American believed that. How could they not? After all, this was “One Nation Under God.” He explained to me that there were people who believed that this was never a Christian nation. To the contrary, they claimed that it was birthed in greed and selfishness with the privileged few controlling the many through fear and oppression.

I decided to research for myself. Here’s what I found: Yes, America was founded on biblical values. But, no, that doesn’t mean that everyone who came across the ocean was a born-again Christian.

Episode 15: Re-Setting the Record Straight

In this episode, the Clearview Church staff sit down to talk about the true American foundation. The biggest attack against Christianity today is that America was founded on selfishness and greed, not Christian values.  If you have any topics you’d like us to discuss, be sure to email us at carpemanana@clearviewbc.org!

BUSINESS IS GOOD (Article) by Abidan Paul Shah

“Local business gives back.” “I like to support companies that give back.” “We feel that we need to give back to our community.” It seems that “giving back” is the new litmus test for being a good business. It is assumed that most businesses are basically bad because they only take from the people. Behind such thinking is the idea that deceiving people is the only way that businesses grow and their owners get rich. Hence, “giving back” is the moral way to come clean and make things right.

Is this really true? This article will help you understand the truth.

FUTURE AND HOPE (Article) by Abidan Paul Shah

Last month Americans all across the land proved with their ballots that they were dissatisfied with the direction of our country. What is being called “one of the greatest political shakeups in history” is a glimpse into the soul of the real USA. Americans have overwhelmingly declared that they do care about the economy, security, and morality of their country. They do want a better world for their children and grandchildren. Once again they are seeing a future and a hope. These are indeed exciting times in our nation’s history. Along with the other positive changes, here are some more that we cannot afford to ignore:

AMERICA TOMORROW (Article) by Abidan Paul Shah

“What’s going on in this world?! What’re we gonna do?!” I was greeted with those words as I made my way to the church office. I knew this person was referring to the recent headlines – “police officers murdered,” “terrorist attack in France,” “military coup in Turkey,” etc. I casually responded – “It seems like people have gone crazy…I guess we just need to pray more…” As I closed my office door behind me, those words began to ring louder and louder in my mind – “What’re we gonna do? What’re we gonna do?!” Just then a quote popped into my head that I read years ago – “The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.”

America Tomorrow by Pastor Abidan Shah

It is no secret that God has established our nation to be a city on a hill. We have been through rough waters before. But our predecessors trusted God and made the necessary course corrections. This message will challenge us to do the same.
